Zanzibar

Think of Zanzibar and you think of white sandy beaches and turquoise seas with fantastic Portuguese and Arabic cuisine.

Discovered by the Portuguese, who ruled it for 200 years between the 15th and 17th centuries – it formed an important stop for the spice trade and was a popular stopping point for Arab traders. All of these influences create an exotic mix of architecture and religion make Zanzibar a fascinating island to visit.

The island has many beautiful resorts dotted around the coast which are popular for honeymooners and families with its sunny climate and the great variety of beach activities, as well as diving and snorkelling.

 

This is a great safari that combines the wonderful Mana Pools and Hwange National Parks with a few days at Victoria Falls.

You get around using small inter-camp flights. Both Mana Pools and Hwange are renowned for their game viewing and walking safaris and offer diverse and contrasting habitats.
